چکیده
The process of depleting the natural sources virgin sand and aggregate makes it challenging to satisfy demand for construction work. Therefore, in a context sustainable construction, this study examined feasibility utilizing dredged sediments (DS) as substitute non-structural controlled low-strength materials (CLSM). A total two types sediments, coarser finer, were collected from different sources. Then, nine CLSM mixtures prepared by using proportions (virgin sand) sediments. Each mixture was tested flowability, unconfined compressive strength, density excavatability. Flow consistency decreased with amount presence finer material CLSM. Strength results found within required specification all study. Overall, flow consistency, strength excavatability dependent on characteristics This showed that up 50% substitution DS improved density. Furthermore, decrease increase mixtures.

Dredged Material Disposal Economics
Recent difficulties in siting dredged material disposal facilities are increasing interests in alternative disposal or reuse of dredged material and the possible adverse consequences of any increases in the generation of dredged materials. This paper focuses on economic aspects of these issues. Simple methods are suggested for evaluating the economics of increasing or decreasing the rate of dis...

Controlled low-strength material (CLSM) is slurry made by mixing sand, cement, ash, and water. It is primarily used as a replacement for soil and structural fillings. This paper presents the findings of a preliminary investigation carried out on the performance of industrial waste incineration bottom ash as CLSM. CLSM mixes were designed using industrial waste incineration bottom ash, and cemen...

Monitoring of 2 disposal operations on Lake Erie near Ashtabula, Ohio, provided an opportunity to employ different approaches to study the physical impact of the disposal of dredged material on the hydraulic regime of the lake in this area. A study conducted in August 1975 involved utilization of several transmissometers placed on 4 anchored vessels and one moving vessel. The transmissometers w...
متن کاملEffect of Cement-fly Ash Additive on Compaction and Strength of Reservoir Dredged Material
Tremendous quantities of reservoir deposited sediments are required to be dredged regularly to maintain the storage capacity of the reservoir. The reservoir dredged material (RDM) can be utilized as construction material after admixing with additives such as cement and fly ash thereby improving its strength characteristics. This research paper presents results of laboratory investigation carrie...
